Writing a Conclusion

Conclusions end a piece of writing. They shouldn't be outright summaries, but should include the paper's main points. You can conclude your essay with a quotation, provocative question, an image, a warning, or with suggestions. Conclusions need to relate to the essay.

There are some things you should not use in your conclusion paragraphs. Do not rephrase your thesis statement, introduce new ideas, or apologize in the concluding paragraph.

What to do for the Conclusion:

Synthesize Include a brief summary, but don't repeat things that were in the paper you wrote. Show your reader that the points, support, and examples you used work together.
Provocative Insight Use a qotation from your reaseach to leave your reader with something more to tink about.
Propose a Solution or Question This can help your reader apply your info and ideas to their own life or apply it to something else.
