Writing an Introduction
| Introductions should be made to attract the reader's attention and give them an idea of what the essay's about. You should start with an eye-catching topic sentence. Then you should add several sentences that'll lead the reader from the attention grabber to the thesis statement. The last part of the paragraph should be the concluding thesis statement. The thesis statement should mention what you're going to write about. |

Examples of Attention Grabbers:
| Question |
You can start out with one question or a couple questions, but make sure to answer them in your paper. |
| Dialogue |
Dialogue needs to be so readers understand the point you, the writer, are trying to present. After using dialouge, you should use a couple sentences elaborating. Make sure your quotation is realated, directly or indirectly, to your subject. |
| Anecdote |
Your Anecdote, or story, needs to be short, direct, and relevant to the topic. |
| Startling Information |
The information has to be true and doesn't have to be exactly new to your readers. After starting with startling information, follow it with a couple sentences of elaboration. |
